After decades of tapping along on the table top to bands and DJs (badly) I acquired a particular type of box to tap on. After a few visits to local open mics Badly Tapped Box was born. Balding, in his 50's and happy to tap along to almost anything this website will link you to the musical projects who tolerate a Badly Tapped Box.

The Box, what is it? Well there's not that many of these about, but playing a traditional cajon meant spending hours sitting with a bent back, not ideal with dodgy discs. So a Meinl Slaptop Cajon became the box of choice for tapping badly upon. Generally it's the "Turbo Pickup" varient, although a more basic fully acoustic version sometimes gets an outing.

Of course there's more to life than tapping on a box. Hitting things with sticks is also fun, so BTB has taken up drumming too.
Pete Winwood is an indie folk-rock songwriter blending acoustic drive with rhythmic, song-led arrangements. His songs move between joyful lift and reflective weight, creating focused live moments where the music leads the room. BTB plays Cajon when Pete performs as a trio with The Lantern Chorus.
BTB plays the drums for Bearfoot. Bearfoot are an upbeat five piece Country "ish!" party band hailing from the Sandon area of Staffordshire. Putting their own harmonica inspired spin on a mixture of classic country tunes, indie and rock classics, and just damned good songs including covering tracks from Steve Earl, Alabama Three, Primal Scream, and even The Stone Roses in their own unique style, Bearfoot's energetic performances and audience engagement make them a pub band not to be missed. You won't be sitting down for long at a Bearfoot gig!
